5.1. Methodological overview

ORGANIZATION AND PLANNING:

  • In the course Prevention Management, which provides students with the theoretical, conceptual and applied framework on OHSAS 18001, students acquire a the necessary knowledge to be able to implement the OHSAS 18001 standard in the company.

CONSTRUCTION SECTOR:

  • The main objective is to provide students the necessary measures to take and manage everything concerning preventive management in construction skills.

AGRICULTURE SECTOR:

  • The subject-matter of Prevention Management in the agriculture sector provides students with the theoretical, conceptual and applied framework on the duties and responsibilities as well as on the measures of preventive management occupational risk.

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT:

  • The course and its expected results respond to the following approach and general objectives: system implementation, widespread standardized management, and to optimize the strategic, productive and support processes required throughout the product life-cycle management.

PATRIMONIAL SECURITY:

  • It is intended that the student knows the risks attached to the security guard activity and organizational procedures of the security services.

TRAFFIC ACCIDENT PREVENTION:

  • It is an informative topic that provides general knowledge on the subject without an impact on specific aspects of technical or scientific disciplines. Its aim is to provide an overview of a topic directly related to road safety, the potential to help prevent traffic accidents is systematically wasted.

ROAD SAFETY:

  • It is an informative topic that provides general knowledge on the subject without an impact on specific aspects of technical or scientific disciplines. Its aim is to provide an overview of a subject that, despite its social impact, is generally unknown. Therefore it is expected that the student, individually, can assess the complexity that, at certain times, may appear in issues related to road safety.

5.2. Learning tasks

The teaching of this course is developed through lectures and case studies that are taught in the classroom 21 of the Faculty of Law.

5.3. Syllabus

The course will address the following topics:

 

ORGANIZATION AND PLANNING:

  • 1. Conferences. Presentation of the course contents through lectures illustrated with examples. The topics covered are:
      • - OHSAS 18001/2007. Management systems Safety and Health Job.
  • 2. Self-evaluation and learning. The teacher elaborates a series of questions, specific and short development, or type test. Its purpose is for students to internalize the basic contents of the course.
  • 3. Case Studies. Case studies to practice problems of the Organization and Management of Prevention from the point of view OHSAS 18.001.
  • 4. Guided assignment. Students will have to make a case supervised by teachers on "Actions to manage the objectives of preventing a company."

CONSTRUCTION SECTOR:

  • 1. Conferences. Presentation of the course contents through lectures illustrated with examples.
  • 2. Practice sessions. Session for the solving of practical cases, discussion and exchange of views on the issues rised by the professor.
  • 3. Tutorials. Orientation session, and guidance during the preparation of assignments.

AGRICULTURE SECTOR:

  • 1. Conferences Presentation of the course contents through lectures illustrated with examples. The topics covered are:
      • - Risks Specific in the agricultural sector.
      • - Machinery and most common equipment used in this sector's risks, dangerous operations, control methods and procedures. Chemical agents in agriculture: pesticides, fertilizers. Its risks. Suitable conditions of use and storage.
      • - Risks In handling animals, farms
      • - Risks In the use of fire
      • - Risks In forestry work
  • 2. Case Studies. TwocCase studies to familiarize students with the accurate and real knowledge of occupational risk management in the agricultural and forestry sector,

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT:

  • The proposed methodology is to focus on the more practical aspects of the course. In the first session with the whole group, the more theoretical aspects will be addressed in the form of lectures illustrated with practical examples. In the second session,students will learn to document a procedure of an integrated management system, which should be included in the continuous assessment system.

PATRIMONIAL SECURITY:

  • 1. Conferences. Presentation of the course contents through lectures illustrated with examples.
  • 2. Case Studies. Case studies to practice solving the problems posed by the management of risks related to safety at work, from detection risk through evaluation of it to end in the elimination or control risk.

TRAFFIC ACCIDENT PREVENTION:

  • 1. Conferences. Presentation of the course contents through lectures illustrated with examples.
  • 2. Case studies. Case studies based on real accidents to understand the mechanisms and know the circumstances which leaded to these accidents, their development, their consequences and their causes and preventive analysis. 

ROAD SAFETY:

  • 1. Conferences. Presentation of the course contents through lectures illustrated with examples.
  • 2. Case studies. The case is designed to develop students' critical vision to concrete situations affecting road safety in the city of Zaragoza. Specifically, work about the deficiencies in road safety posed by bike paths and other derivatives of the future movement of the tram will be addressed.

5.4. Course planning and calendar

ORGANIZACIÓN Y PLANIFICACIÓN:

La asignatura consta de 1 crédito ECTS repartidos de la siguiente forma. Clases magistrales 0,4 créditos ECTS Estudio. Trabajo autónomo del estudiante 0,6 crédito ECTS.

La responsabilidad y la impartición de la docencia corresponderán a profesionales y especialistas en materias de Organización y Gestión de la Prevención, con amplia experiencia tanto en esta materia como en la docencia.

 

SECTOR CONSTRUCCIÓN:

Las clases magistrales tendrán 0.20 créditos.

Las clases prácticas de casos y problemas: 0.10 créditos

Seminarios y talleres: 0.10 créditos
